great show, lovely venue, utterly crammed seating

Chris Isaak was wonderful! Humphreys is a lovely place for the show and intimate enough to feel like you are there with the musicians but the seating was so tight that I needed to sit diagonally in my seat to not be pressed hard against the people on either side. When sitting straight, my shoulders and arms were pressed hard against the shoulders and arms of the people on either side of me. We were all slender people. It was a bit like being in an airplane in coach, but even there, you aren't literally pressed against your neighbor. This comical closeness with strangers was distracting and I noted a lot of people just stood outside the seating, I presume to avoid this or potentially because they were larger than normal and could not even begin to fit in the tiny space allotted them. This seating would have worked fine for elementary school-aged children, but not for adults. I think that the calculation of how many people to squeeze into an area versus loss of revenue from those lost seats is incorrect because I will keep this in mind when considering whether or not to go to Humphreys again and I'm absolutely certain everyone else will too.
